~ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ~

HOW DO I GET TO IMMANUEL BAPTIST CHURCH?

Immanuel Baptist Church is located near downtown Hoquiam at 1200 Soule Avenue. This map will show you how to find us.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Parking is available surrounding the church building. Handicapped parking spaces are plentiful.

CHILD CARE

We offer children's ministries for nursery through third grade. Ask an usher at the door to show you where your child's age ministry is located. Grade school children are invited to sit with you at the beginning of the worship service and then, before the sermon, they will be invited to Children's Worship.

BEFORE THE SERVICE STARTS

Our church has a sanctuary with rows of comfortable stack chairs. There are no reserved seats, so you may sit anywhere. Each seat has a book rack with hymnals, however lyrics to the songs are projected onto a large screen. Many people will be greeting each other during this time. As you enter the sanctuary, you will receive the bulletin for that week. In it, you will find the schedule for that morning's service including the order of songs and sermon topic. You will also find information on the many happenings at Immanuel Baptist and a list of birthdays and anniversaries of members.

WHAT IS THE WORSHIP SERVICE LIKE?

Our worship services are a time of joyful worship and praise with a variety of traditional and contemporary Christian music provided by our choir, soloists, or ensembles. The words to the songs will either be displayed at the front of the sanctuary or can be found in the hymnal. We believe that God will lead you in the worship style with which you feel most comfortable. There may be special announcements or features, and occasionally dramas are presented (often humorous).

We currently have two worship teams which lead music in both traditional and contemporary styles using piano, drums, and guitar.

HOW WILL I KNOW WHEN TO STAND?

Pastor Kent or the worship leader will ask the congregation to stand or sit. Generally, we stand during opening congregation songs and during the invitation song.

THE MESSAGE

Pastor Kent gives Bible-based messages that last about 40 minutes. His messages are timely, and often sprinkled with appropriate humor.

CRYING ROOM

If you have a baby who is not comfortable or, if you need to nurse, the nursery will fit your needs.

GIVING

Immanuel Baptist Church does encourage tithing. However, our guests are not expected to give anything. During this time, if you have filled out the guest form found in the hymnals, we do ask you to drop it in the offering plate.

AFTER THE SERVICE

Pastor Kent generally greets folks as they leave the church through the front door, so you will have a chance to personally talk with him if you like.
